what is the ea locker? 06 July 2008
Posted by TrickyD

The EA Locker is the key that is unlocking the door to free and easy NCAA Football 09 roster sharing.

EA Sports and the NCAA team at Tiburon are not able to provide us with real player names in the NCAA Football Series.  They are also not able to officially endorse the availability of such files, but they have provided us with a tool that allows the community of NCAA gamers to share these roster files freely with one-another.

For the Xbox 360 and the Sony PS3

On the main menu for NCAA Football 09, click ‘Online’
Then click on ‘EA Locker’
Then enter in the desired Gamertag (We will always keep a list of trusted lockers in the sidebar)

Inside the locker, you can download any roster files that they may have.

If you do not have access to the internet from your console you can; download the rosters from links provided on freeNCAA09Rosters.com using the Datel Transfer Kit (Xbox 360) or a USB Thumb Drive (PS3).  If you have a friend with an internet connection to their console just take a memory card and NCAA over to their console and grab the rosters off of EA Locker.

Free NCAA Football 09 Rosters for the Xbox 360 game console are available right now!

That is correct, we are still more than 8 days from the official release of the game and the rosters for the Xbox 360 are already complete.

Whether you manage to find the game early or end up having to wait until July 15th, 360 owners will be able to fire up their consoles and immediately download fully named rosters, nothing but the game and an internet connection required.

These rosters were generated for the community by pastapadre

So now for 360 gamers there is no waiting around after release for rosters to be completed and no wondering where to get them from. The first time you fire up the game you’ll be able to grab the complete named roster from my locker. Even if you’re one of the lucky ones who manage to find the game early!

Visit Xbox Gamertag pastapadre via the NCAA Football 09 in game EA Locker to retrieve these FREE rosters.

psxsports.com is now for profit 02 July 2008
Posted by TrickyD

The quest to inform everyone about the quality and ease of availability of free NCAA Football 09 rosters took a hit today as word has leaked out that long time free roster file provider DT Linder has sold his website, psxsports.com to for profit roster seller Brian Kaldenberg.

Not sure if you’ve seen it yet, but DT Linder sold PSXSports to Brian Kaldenberg. I am doing a story regarding this for Kotaku (where I am weekend editor). I would be very much interested in your reaction, comment, observations, etc.

There will still be plenty of high quality free rosters available, but now we need to work even harder to ensure casual gamers do not fall victim to the scam that is for profit ncaa roster sellers.

interview with free ncaa 09 roster creator cdj 14 June 2008
Posted by JBHuskers

Recently I conducted an interview with one of freencaa09rosters.com’s contributors CDJ.  This interview will give you some insight into the direction and mission of our website.  In addition, this interview gives you important details on what you can do to obtain and promote the distribution of FREE NCAA 09 rosters.

JBHuskers: Hello CDJ, thanks for doing the interview for freencaa09rosters.com!  The first question for you would be when did you get your start in providing rosters for the general public?

CDJ:  I first started editing rosters back on NCAA 2003 for the Nintendo GameCube.  NCAA Football has always been my game of choice and having named rosters increases the value of the game infinitely.  Having a name to tie to the player makes it easier to create a ‘virtual rapport’ with not only my Dynasty team, but also my foes.  It’s easier to keep track of ‘John Doe’ than it is ‘QB #12.’

JBHuskers:  What drove you to put in the work to provide this free service?

CDJ:  As mentioned above, I feel it makes the game so much more enjoyable.  This is something I started doing for my own benefit, however back in 2002 I found a website (Utopia - ncaaStrategies.com) full of like-minded guys.  There was a whole group of GameCube gamers who wanted named rosters, so I told them to mail me their card and I would copy the file over for free.  Naming rosters is something I would do just for myself, but knowing there is this huge NCAA gaming community out there makes me glad to be able to share them.

JBHuskers: Why is it important to promote sites like freencaa09rosters.com?

CDJ:  It’s more than important, it’s ESSENTIAL that sites like freencaa09rosters.com get promoted.  Each year, too many people don’t do their homework.  They buy roster files from eBay or some illegitimate website.  People need to realize that it is against NCAA regulations to profit off of player likenesses.  If these eBay roster sellers and unethical websites continue to sell them, we risk the NCAA asking EA Sports to remove the roster editing feature.  There are a lot of guys who create free roster files.  In this day and age of the internet, no one has an excuse to be ignorant and pay for rosters.  Also, with the new EA Locker in NCAA 09 (PS3 & 360) it is so easy to get free rosters, that these illegitimate sellers should have no business coming in.

JBHuskers:  Please explain what the roster file you are working on for NCAA Football 09 will contain.

CDJ:  The file I work on will have just names, nothing more.  This way, when you play online the names will appear.

JBHuskers:  What are some of the online and offline methods one can use to obtain this year’s rosters?

CDJ:  If someone owns a PS3 or 360, they can use the new EA Locker feature, which can be found in-game - under the ‘Online’ section.  If they don’t have their console connected online, they can use a USB flash drive to download the PS3 rosters and 360 owners can use a XSata or Xchange 360 to place the files on a memory card and load that onto their console.

JBHuskers:  When can we expect these rosters to be available?

CDJ:  I always say to expect them no sooner than 14 days after the release of the game, however they are typically done before that time.  Editing rosters (and correctly at that) takes some time.  While this may be frustrating for those waiting to start a Dynasty, I recommend people use this time to get acquainted with the controls, playbooks, and maybe even play some Campus Legend.  By the time people get a true feel for the game down, the rosters are usually complete or close to it.

JBHuskers:  One final question.  What is the best way for anyone to spread the word that these rosters can be received for free?

CDJ:  The online NCAA gaming community has known for years how to get free rosters - what we ALL need to do is tell our friends, co-workers, acquaintances who do not browse and NCAA Football fan sites about EA Locker and these free sources.  After we tell them, we need them to tell their friends who do not go to fan sites.  We need the word to spread that NCAA Football rosters are not only easy to attain, but more importantly FREE.

JBHuskers:  Thank for taking time to interview for freencaa09rosters.com!

use a memory card to and from ea locker 11 June 2008

EA Sport’s NCAA 09 developer Ben Haumiller has confirmed that Xbox 360 and PS3 owners that do not have an internet connection available on their consoles will be able to take a memory card to a friend’s console with an internet connection and download the free NCAA 09 rosters onto the memory unit and then load the free rosters onto their console from said memory card.

This is major news in further easing the process of getting free NCAA Football 09 rosters into your game.

ea locker allows free ncaa 09 roster sharing 10 June 2008
Posted by cdj

This year, NCAA Football 09 for the PS3 & 360 has a great new feature - the EA Locker. The EA Locker allows free and easy roster access via your gaming console, so long as you are connected online with it.

The EA Locker allows users to download rosters from their friends or select community members. Conversely, it also allows gamers to upload their own created roster file they wish to share.

Getting rosters for NCAA Football has never been easier. Here’s how you use it:

- On the main menu for NCAA Football, click ‘Online’
- Then click on ‘EA Locker’
- From here, you can browse the ‘locker’ of your friends to download any roster files they have have. You can also enter in the Gamertag/PSN ID for a certain user as well and download any rosters they have.

This season, the EA Locker ushers in a new era of NCAA Football. Gamers no longer need to hunt down hard to find transfer devices and most importantly, they no longer need to pay outrageous prices from scam artists who steal their roster file from free sources.

This year, make sure you tell all your friends about the EA Locker and freeNCAA09rosters.com.

Fast. Easy. Free. Spread the word.
